San Francisco born and raised, Marlo was exposed to the vibrant culture of the Haight/Ashbury scene. Growing up listening to concept albums ignited the spark that would lead to their lifelong fascination of the power of music and their strive for a way to interpret that energy through visual art.
They are deeply influenced by; Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Alphonse Mucha's art nouveau prints, Gustav Klimt's body of work, psychedelic rock posters from the 1960's & 1970's, Robert McGinnis' movie posters, and the animated films of Hayao Miyazaki. Due to these inspirations they create their work using very fine line work with a focus on detail, symbolism, graphic patterns, and a painterly touch.
Currently Marlo spends their extra time writing up complicated plots for TTRPGS, wondering is there life on mars, listening to far too many podcasts, and surviving on copious amounts of tea. They continue to pursue work in illustrating for publishing, album/ lp cover art, posters, and apparel design.
